Facemounting
The bling of contemporary, facemounting has become a staple in the art world for fine art photography. Its ultra clean frameless look is similar to its not so distant cousin the dibond mount.
The only difference is that instead of the lamination that a dibond mount includes, the facemount is protected by a clear layer of Plexiglas. This adds brightness and really helps the colours pop! The photo is facemounted to the inside of a 1/8” acrylic facing sheet using DRYTACs FacemountTM UV, and is then backed with a 1/8” piece of dibond. To finish things off an aluminum u-channel is added to the back to create stability in addition to acting as a spacer so that your artwork floats off the wall. This creates a three dimensional look with beautiful shadows, while the u-channel is also used as the hanger.
Unfortunately, the facemount is not achievable with every type of paper, but you are always welcome to bring in your piece for us to take a look at and let you know. Alternatively, we offer printing services and you are encouraged to send us your file for us to print on our high quality archival papers to ensure you get the quality finished product that you are hoping for!
Below are some examples of the plexi facemount followed by a pricelist for most standard sizes. If the size you’re looking for is not there not to worry! Everything we do is custom so a slight variation in size shouldn’t reflect much of a price difference. Please feel free to contact us to receive a quotation for your custom size!
